Inside an RBM Session

Sessions flow in three parts: a guided intention setting, a breathing cycle and a reflection space to close and integrate what emerged during the session.

The breathing cycle typically lasts 90 minutes and involves slow, conscious breathing while comfortably lying down and listening to calm music. Each session is designed to meet you where you are at and support you safely through whatever arises.

Sessions are offered in-person in Northern Virginia and online. No prior experience or preparation is necessary.

You are welcomed exactly as you are.

Frequent Questions + Answers

What is Breathwork Mastery, and how is it different?

Breathwork Mastery RBM is a gentle, connected conscious breath-body technique that allows the nervous system to unwind held tension, shed limiting beliefs and increase your baseline capacity for regulation over time.

RBM is a parasympathetic style of breathwork that works with intention, mindful awareness and the body's own wisdom to allow change to unfolds at a pace that feels supportive and sustainable. This is unlike breathwork styles that intentionally activate the sympathetic nervous system through fast, intense, or highly rhythmic breathing patterns such as Holotropic Breathwork, SOMA Breathwork, Transformational Breathwork, and traditional rebirthing breathwork styles.

RBM is also distinct from common breathing exercises used in yoga, meditation, psychotherapy, or somatic practices, such as box breathing, diaphragmatic breathing, pranayama, or yogic deep breathing. While those techniques are often used for relaxation or focus, RBM is a deeper breath-body process aimed at supporting lasting nervous system regulation and personal transformation.

What informs your approach and training?

My approach is shaped by both lived experience and professional training.

I've experienced firsthand the transformative impact of this work. Breathwork has become a foundational part of my own life and continues to support me in creating a life that feels more aligned, intentional, and fulfilling. Even after years of practice, I'm still humbled by what can unfold when breath, awareness, and intention come together.

Over the past two years, I've been training as a Rebirthing Breathwork Mastery Practitioner through The School of Breathwork under Eleanor Mann, the sole lineage holder of this style of breathwork. I am currently in the final stage of training and on track to graduate by Fall 2026.

My work is also informed by my background in health, wellness, and human behavior. I hold master's degrees in Social Work and Public Health from the University of Michigan and spent more than a decade supporting individuals and communities in creating meaningful change. I'm also a Certified Health and Wellness Coach.

Together, these experiences have shaped an approach that is compassionate, practical, and deeply rooted in the belief that lasting change happens when we feel supported, connected, and empowered to trust ourselves.

How is Breathwork Mastery RBM different from coaching or therapy?

While breathwork, coaching, and therapy can all support growth and healing, they work in very different ways.

Therapy often focuses on understanding experiences through conversation and insight. Coaching is generally future-focused and helps you clarify goals, navigate challenges, and create meaningful change. Breathwork Mastery RBM works through the breath and body, allowing emotions, patterns, and tension to surface and release naturally.

Many people find these approaches complement one another beautifully. Breathwork Mastery RBM is not a substitute for therapy, coaching, or mental health treatment.

What will I need for an RBM session?

For every session, I recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move and breathe easily. Have a blanket or layers nearby, as body temperature can naturally fluctuate during breathwork. Because you'll be lying down for about 90 minutes, gather any blankets, bolsters, or other supports that help you feel comfortable.

You'll also want water or beverage of choice, a journal or paper, and a pen.

For online sessions, you'll also need a quiet, private space where you can lie down comfortably without interruption, a reliable internet connection, and a laptop or computer to join on Zoom. Please position your camera so I can see the upper part of your body, from the torso to the head. This allows me to safely guide and support you throughout the session.
